1 - Reforestation of 40,000 Olives



Main objective The project objective is to replant olive trees in southern Lebanon, mostly in villages south of the Litani River.

This reforestation will essentially allow people to regain their lost income or because of war or because of the different forest fires that have hit small farms:
Small family farms have suffered the most forest fires

- which the fight against hunger and sustainable manner;
- to protect the environment by planting trees at first, but especially in promoting biodiversity;
- to contribute to sustainable development;
- to accompany a project of the UNIFIL and the French Development Agency to install 4 mills presses olive oil;
- for a Campaign many larger planting one million olive trees throughout Lebanon, the first campaign designed to serve as a model. Sensitizing the various countries of UNIFIL Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Mediterranean and World concentrating production of olive cultivation and using the technical infrastructure of UNIFIL to carry out this project term.

Specific objectives
Reforest 40,000 olive trees in 50 villages, with 1000 olive trees per village for villages above 5000 population of 500 trees
And for smaller villages.

Awareness of reforestation with UNIFIL, Mayors, religious leaders, teachers and NGOs

A rate of 3 trees per family or 13 333 families, the olive being a certain size, it is hoped that after 2 years the operator may benefit from resources provided by the olive tree.







100,000 people are directly or indirectly by this project, small manufacturing units of olive oil or soap in the first place, this project is a lever for development development in this poor region completely industry.
